Circles vs. Lines 🚫

Circles vs. Lines 🚫

With art you cannot say circles are better than lines.

You can say you prefer circles.

But you cannot objectively say they are better.

Because art is a matter of opinion and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

With sustainability, however, circles are 100% better than lines.

The circular economy is better than the linear economy.

Nature is filled with circular economy principles.

Think of a horse eating fresh green grass. 🥬🐎

First the grass grows.

Then the horse eats it.

Then it makes full use of the grass, digesting it for energy (and the fibre is handy too).

Once it’s done with that, it deposits the remainder (which you hope you don’t step in during your refreshing country walk).

This “fertiliser” nourishes the soil.

So more fresh green grass grows.

And the horse can continue this cycle.

Round and round. Forever and ever.

That’s essentially the circular economy.

Self sustaining, closed loop, no waste.

At Gallivanters’ CC, we think nature is beautiful and amazing so we try to follow its example.

Did you know you can return your t-shirts to us once they’re no longer wearable?

They will then be broken down, mixed with new material and made into new t-shirts.

Above: How the circular economy works at Gallivanters' CC

We aren’t yet as efficient as the horse to be totally closed looped. The recycled t-shirts need some new 100% organic cotton material to maintain the quality of the garments.

But we are circular economy and work to reduce waste by keeping our organic cotton materials going round and round our supply chain for as long as possible.

So how do you send them back to us?

Scan the QR code on the label of your Gallivanters’ CC garment and all the instructions will be there.

Until next time,
