Tonga Diaries - Boat Day 🌬️
Share
It was June 2nd.
Boat day.
By this time I had been in Tonga for 5 days exploring the island of Tongatapu.
It was wonderful. So much beautiful nature and culture and the Tongan people were so friendly and welcoming.
I had also now met most of my crew mates which was great.
But this was the day we were to board the boat and set to work.
It was the first day of the expedition.
I woke up in darkness before my alarm, not out of nerves or excitement but because the wind was howling and the rain was pummelling down on the roof of my hotel.
There was also music blaring from somewhere outside.
I went onto my balcony to investigate.
It was rain and wind and Celine Dion.
My Heart Will Go On.
Not the Titanic song...
Not on boat day...
Lucky I don't believe in omens 👀
Tonga Diaries continues next week.
